"2000 BMW 323i Drivers Side Mirror Change Position by Itself"

White 2000 BMW 323i Sedan Left Side View

I have an 2000 BMW 323i 4 door sedan and every time I unlock the car with the remote the drivers side mirror starts moving by itself in the upward motion without the key in the ignition. It’s been doing weird things like moving by itself. Any ideas what it could be?
Answer: The driver’s door module which controls the settings of the driver’s side mirror is defective and should be replaced in cars made before 1999/2000 (which probably covers your car).
Askers added info that 2000 door was replaced with a 2003 points to the problem. The mirror in an ’00 is controlled by the door module, whereas the ’03 has a built-in module in the mirror motor itself. So the mirror is confused as can be. This is what happens when unorthodox repairs are done without any knowledge of the consequences. The most logical correction is to re-program/code the General/Basic Module and retrofit the newer side mirror module. This can only be done through a GT1 with V44 or an SSS machine (BMW computers).
