"2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Tires Pressure Monitors Work"

2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Front Right View

I have an 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, and it has a tire pressure monitors. I’m wondering how those works exactly. How is the pressure measured, how is it transmitted to the car computer? (I’m guessing it works the same way in most (all?) cars make, so I’m posting this in the general category, not in the Toyota category.) Is the pressure information captured by the monitoring devices sent wireless to the on-board computer?
Answer: There’s a sensor on each valve stem that monitors the amount of pressure and its picked up by a small computer mounted on the vehicle,it does this by temperature and pressure, so the amount of pressure will rise as the temperature gets hotter, that’s why those often read wrong, its just a tiny chip in each valve that does this, i haven’t seen too many of those that actually will read the proper amount of pressure on them, especially in colder or really hot weather, good luck.
