White 1992 Mercedes Benz 190E |
How much would it cost for a tune up of a 1992 Mercedes Benz 190E? Are there any special tools needed like a torque wrench and stuff like that. Because I want to do it myself to save some money.
Answer: You do realize that there really is no such thing as a “tune-up” on modern
vehicles like on your 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E? The term refers to cars
up to the 60′s and 70′s which had points and condensers in the
distributor, needed to set the timing, needed to perhaps adjust the idle
or adjust the needle valve on
the carburetor. Although the term tune-up still lingers in the
automotive world, today it basically just means to replace the spark
plugs and maybe check the condition of the air filter
and PCV valve (Mercedes does not use PCV valves by the way). All the
other things it used to involve are now computer controlled and do not
require any adjusting.
