I have a Toyota Hi-Lux Surf Auto 1991 and I have a problem with it. I can’t reverse in my Toyota Hi-Lux Surf Auto 1991. It goes into reverse the signal comes on but it will not move. Any suggestions to what the problem could be. Thanks.
Answer: There are
pretty much only two possibilities, a shift linkage problem, or the
transmission has gone bad. The good news is, if there is no indication
that you even shifted gears, it is probably a linkage problem. It takes
probably 15 minutes to adjust. Be careful who you let check and fix it, you run a risk of someone spending 15 minutes
fixing it, then keeping you car for a week. At the end of the week,
they will give you a bill for $300 labor for going into the transmission
to repair it.
