"1993 Subaru Legacy: Using Synthetic Oil Suggestion"

1993 Subaru Legacy Sedan

I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy, non turbo engine. It has about 147,000 miles on it. My question is, would it be a good idea if I want to change the engine oil with a synthetic oil?
Answer:
There is two things you need to know if you are going to replace your Subaru Legacy from conventional oil to a synthetic oil:
  • Change it only once. Do not change back and forth, because there are a chemicals in the oil that can cause more damaged when it’s constantly being changed.
  • If your Subaru Legacy has that many miles on it, change it to a high mileage oil like Valvaline or Mobil 1 high millage. Don’t use cheap oil if you’d like your 1993 Subaru Legacy engine to last longer.
