"Oil Change For R-35 Nissan GTR"

Black Nissan GTR

I have a R-35 Nissan GTR and I know how to change oil. But on the GTR, I can’t find where the oil pan or oil filter is. Maybe I’m just stupid. Anybody have a diagram guide or a DIY guide?

Answers : Oil change for R-35 Nissan GTR
1. Precautions Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause skin cancer. Try to avoid direct skin contact with used oil. If skin contact is made, wash thoroughly with soap or hand cleaner as soon as possible. HEALTH PROTECTION PRECAUTIONS
Wear protective clothing, including impervious gloves where practicable.
Do not put oily rags in pockets.
Avoid contaminating clothes, particularly underpants, with oil.
Heavily soiled clothing and oil-impregnated footwear should not be worn. Overalls must be cleaned regularly.
First aid treatment should be obtained immediately for open cuts and wounds.
Use barrier creams, applying them before each work period, to help the removal of oil from the skin.
Wash with soap and water to ensure all oil is removed (skin cleansers and nail brushes will help). Preparations containing lanolin replace the natural skin oils which have been removed.
Do not use gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, gas oil, thinners or solvents for cleaning skin.
If skin disorders develop, obtain medical advice without delay.
Where practical, degrease components prior to handling.
Where there is a risk of eye contact, eye protection should be worn, for example, chemical goggles or face shields; in addition an eye wash facility should be provided.
Avoid prolonged and repeated contact with oils, particularly used engine oils.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PRECAUTIONS
Dispose of used oil and used oil filters through authorized waste disposal contractors to licensed waste disposal sites, or to the waste oil reclamation trade. If in doubt, contact the local authority for advice on disposal facilities. It is illegal to pour used oil on to the ground, down sewers or drains, or into water sources. The regulations concerning pollution vary between regions.
2. Recommended Engine Oil
It is essential to choose the correct grade, quality, and viscosity engine oil to ensure satisfactory engine life and performance. Mobil1, 0W-40 (100% synthetic) is the factory fill oil. The VR38 engine with its plasma-sprayed bores was developed using this oil. NISSAN cannot ensure proper engine operation and durability if other 0W-40 synthetic oil is used. If Mobil1, 0W-40 is not available, Mobil1, 10W-40 (100% synthetic) may be used; however, some performance loss may be noticed.
Using an engine oil other than that specified could adversely affect the engine.
3. oil Filter
The GTR uses the same oil filter as the G35/G37 and the 350Z (part number OEM Nissan oil Filter 15208-9E000). This is the same as the Purolator PureONE PL14610 oil filter. Both available from g35parts.com @ $5.31 each (info credit due to wefordus).
4. Inspection
i. Engine oil Level
NOTE:Before starting engine, put vehicle horizontally and check the engine oil level. If engine is already started, stop it and allow 10 minutes before checking.
1.Pull out oil level gauge and wipe it clean.
2.Insert oil level gauge and check the engine oil level is within the range (A) shown in the figure.

3.If it is out of range, adjust it.
NOTE:When checking the engine oil level, insert oil level gauge (1) with its tip aligned with oil level gauge guide.

ii. Engine oil Appearance
  • Check engine oil for white turbidity or heavy contamination.
  • If engine oil becomes turbid and white, it is highly probable that it is contaminated with engine coolant. Repair or replace damaged parts.
iii. Engine oil Leakage
Check for engine oil leakage around the following areas:
Oil pans (lower and upper) Oil pan drain plug Oil pressure switch Oil level sensor Oil temperature sensor Oil filter Oil filter bracket Valve timing control cover Intake valve timing control solenoid valve Mating surface between cylinder head and rocker cover Mating surface between front timing chain case and rear timing chain case Mating surface between rear timing chain case and cylinder head Mating surface between rear timing chain case and cylinder block Mating surface between rear timing chain case and oil pan (upper) Mating surface between cylinder block and cylinder head Mating surface between lower cylinder block and cylinder block Crankshaft oil seals (front and rear) Camshaft position sensor (PHASE) Turbo charger
5. Draining
■ WARNING ■
  • Be careful not to get burned, as engine oil may be hot.
  • Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause skin cancer. Try to avoid direct skin contact with used engine oil. If skin contact is made, wash thoroughly with soap or hand cleaner as soon as possible.
1. Warm up the engine, and check for engine oil leakage from engine components. Refer to Inspection.
2.Stop the engine and wait for 10 minutes.
3.Loosen oil filler cap.
4.Remove undercover with power tool.
5.Remove drain plug (1) and then drain engine oil.

2. Refill with new engine oil as specified. Engine oil capacity Unit: liters (US qt, lmp qt) Drain and refill With oil filter change 5.5 (5‐3/4, 4‐7/8) Without oil filter change 5.0 (5‐1/4, 4‐3/8) Dry engine (Overhaul) 6.7 (7‐1/8, 5‐7/8)
■ CAUTION ■
  • When filling engine oil, never pull out oil level gauge.
  • The refill capacity depends on the engine oil temperature and drain time. Use these specifications for reference only.
  • Always use oil level gauge to determine the proper amount of engine oil in engine.
3.Warm up the engine and check area around drain plug and oil filter for engine oil leakage.
4.Stop the engine and wait for 10 minutes.
5.Check the engine oil level.
