1994 Green Toyota Corolla |
I can feel the heat on my 1994 Toyota Corolla
but the fan has totally quit at any speed. Previously it would cut out
but mostly ran. Could this be the resistor or the heater blower fan problems?
Answer: There are a couple of possibilities here that might be become a problems on your 1994 Toyota Corolla. Looking at a wiring
diagram that I believe relates to your vehicle, I see there are 2
fuses, a relay, a resistor block, a heater switch, and of course the
associated wiring. In MOST cases, if you have no blower speeds
whatsoever, its generally the blower motor itself. If you had had only
the high speed for a while and now nothing, then I would go for the
resistor. Thing about this is, if you are going to replace the blower
motor, it is best to replace the resistor at the same time anyway. I am
not saying to just replace these parts and you will have fixed the
problem, but if you do find it is one or the other, just go ahead and do
both at the same time. Make sure to check your fuses, it looks like one
should be a 40 amp fuse and the other should be a 10 amp fuse. The
blower speed switch is on the “ground” side of the blower motor itself,
just so you know. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.
