I have a problems with my 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 430. The check engine light came on recently. Does anybody know what may have caused this check engine light to go on?
Answer: It means that one (or more) of the various sensors has either malfunctioned or detected a fault that is outside of it’s normal operating parameters.
What causes the check engine light to turn on? Quite a few different things are possible. There is no way of getting around this one if you want to fix it properly. Your Mercedes-Benz CLK 430 will need to be scanned, the problem fixed, and the code erased to turn off that light. You could just have the code(s) erased but the problem(s) would likely reoccur shortly and trigger the light again.
