I have an 1999 Volkswagen Jetta
and the ABS light has been coming on and off daily for the past few
months. The first time the light came on there was a loud crunching or
buzzing sound when applying the brakes. The
brakes still work fine now, and the sound happens most of the time when
the light comes on but not always. I would like to know what parts are
involved or what specifically is wrong, I’m taking it to a shop,
wondering if they’ll know what it is and how much it will cost? Thanks
Answer: The crunching is the hydraulic abs pump coming on, the light means there is a problem with one of the wheel sensors.
