"2005 Hyundai Accent Shifting Problems"

2005 Hyundai Accent

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent that I brought brand new. It is an automatic transmission. It has very low mileage, and has only been driven in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I have gotten the car serviced as I was supposed to, changed all fluids frequently, etc.
About a month ago, I started the car normally, a found that I could not put the car in gear. The button on the shifter wouldn’t depress at all. I had to do the shift lock over ride to get the car in gear. This is still going on. I cannot shift the car into any gear without using the shift lock over ride.
I called 3 different places here and before I could even get through my explanation of the problem, they all said the same thing – “you need a new transmission.” I just don’t understand how they could say that without even looking at the car.
My question is this – is that the fix for this?
Thank you for your time and help.

Answer: There are a number change switch and an electronic key. If this one works correctly (sounds like the solenoid), which adhered to manually override. You will be able to ride it and put it in the transmitting unit is in order. Do you have a Hyundai dealer?
