Volkswagen Golf Mk4 Electric Window Switch |
The power windows and interior lighting in my 2000 VW Golf
MK4 suddenly stopped working. I took it to a friend who took out a
blown fuse in the 14 spot on the fusecard, which is for interior lights
and central locking system and
everything worked for a while. Later tonight it stopped again and I just
got a new stereo installed and checked the fuse that should control the
radio and there is a 15amp fuse, but it should be a 25 amp. Could that
be my problem or is there much more to it?! Thanks so much for any
help!!
Answer: Check these
fuses and change the rating to the rating as below if different. If your
fuses still blow then the only course of action is to have the relevant
circuits tested as the fault could be anything like a faulty ignition
switch to damaged or chafed wiring or even a faulty convenience system.
Fuse F14 (10 amp fuse) controls interior lights & convenience system.
Fuse F37 (10 Amp fuse) radio memory & convenience system.
Fuse F42 (25 amp fuse) Radio.
Fuse F38 (15 Amp fuse) luggage compartment lamp, central locking, filler tank flap.
The central locking and electric windows are powered by a Relay plate fuse number (FR37 30amp).
