"The Reason Why Dodge Hasn’t Put a HEMI in Viper"

2008 Dodge Viper Engine View

I was expecting this new 2008 Dodge Viper with an extra 80 HP to have a HEMI, but I guess now. Has Dodge tweeked the SRT-10 engine to the point where adding a HEMI wouldn’t work without redoing the entire engine? Or that the SRT-10 engine creates more power on it’s own than it would with a HEMI?

Answer: The Viper is the Viper because of the V10 engine. Dodge has other platforms where they use the hemi and that’s where the hemi should stay. I have an 06 Viper Coupe and the V10 has unimaginable torque. I don’t think the hemi could provide that type of torque.
