My 1998 Chevrolet Silverado fuel gauge quit working a while back,
it’s not a big deal but I would like to know how much gas I have?
You really don’t see how much of a convenience it is until it’s gone.
The truck only has 85,000 miles, Why isn’t my fuel gauge working? It’s
always above full, but sometimes will drop right below the F, then when I
restart the truck it’s above full.
Answer: Most likely fuel sending unit in tank is
failing, I unbolt bed of truck and slide back so I can replace unit but
sometimes impossible, so I drop tank down , rusty gas lines will need to
be replaced also.
