"2004 Dodge Neon SXT: How To Program The Spare Key"

2004 Silver Dodge Neon SXT Front View

How do I program a spare key for a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT? I made 2 copies of my car key only to find out that the keys don’t actually start the car. I only have 1 working key for the vehicle. Is there any way to program a spare key with just one working key? I saw online that one company could make a new key with 1 working key and a PIN number, whatever that is. Any ideas?

Answer: Your 2004 Dodge Neon SXT has the Sentry Key Immobilizer (SKIM). You must get a Sentry Key cut, then programmed for your car. I think you can self-program a new key, since you have a working key. Look at your owners manual, I think it tells you how to do that. A locksmith can cut the key and program it, they can call the local dealer and get the PIN. (It’s the 4 digit programming #). Or go to the dealer, they would charge $30 to program and like $40 for the key blank.
