I have the abs light in control panel, but I never saw the light on. My car is Mitsubishi Galant 1999 4 door ES. How to make sure I have this system?
Answer: If you know
what to look for, you can identify the ABS pump somewhere under your
hood. It is a rectangular and aluminum block with whole bunch of metal
pipes coming out. It may say “BOUSH” or “ABS” on it. Otherwise, see your
manual – or the sales literature if you still have it.
ABS light should come on for the first few second after you turn your car on, and never come on, unless there is a malfunction. If you are sensitive, you can also feel the ABS pump kick in, in exercise mode just a few second after you reach 5 mph or so ONCE after your turn your car on.
