My driver side window doesn’t work. It has power, and i hear it trying to work but obviously it doesn’t go up or down. There is a black piece missing out of it, sounds stupid, i know, im not sure how to put it back in or where it even goes. But its really annoying because it has messed up my door paneling. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have an issue, hope someone can help. I own a 2006 volkswagen jetta and the power mirror, window and lock from the driver side door stopped working all of the sudden. Remote won’t work, it won’t roll windows up or down, not even with the key. All the other sides work just fine. I removed the driver’s door panel and everything goes to a module, I wonder if this is my problem. Also the driver’s door pin does not work, I close the door and the light on door and cluster are still on. It wanted to work for a couple of minutes when I hold door open half way (may be just coincidence?)

My 97 Jetta has been having persistant electrical problems and I don’t want to pay upwards of 1300 dollars for the dealership to rebuild the wiring harness. All of the auxiliary power has failed. Dome Lights, power locks, sunroof and 12V DC Jack have all taken a crap, thankfully, the windows and the stereo still work, so I have been able to live with these problems for a while.

I recently went to get my car emissions tested to get new tags, and the guy at the test area said that electrical problems are really common in jettas. This leads me to believe answers for such problems are equally as common. Could someone help me out?

I have a 2000 New Beetle. When I turn the wheel in any direction, it’s began to make a “growling” sound. Not scraping, but also not that typical “power steering” sound you normally hear. Any guesses on what’s wrong? It seems to get worse the longer I drive it in a day.

I have had it to the shop countless times. The temperature light came on countless times flashing red. That caused the car to overheat and melt my water pump (which I had replaced 3 times by the way) I leak antifreeze constantly and always have that replaced. Oh and by the way I haven’t even had the car a YEAR. Someone who has a 99 VW Beetle please respond if you’ve had similar problems.

I bought a 1999 VW Beetle a year or 2 ago. Shortly after purchase the cruise control stopped working, the windows automatically rolling up when the key is inserted in the door stopped working, and the gas gauge stopped working, and the door dinging when the key is left in the car has stopped working. My keyless entry had stopped working for quite awhile, and then one day just started working again. I have checked the fuses. Any ideas as to what could be causing these problems?

Have a 2000 vw beetle with radio problems, can someone help? ok it’s not on at all, no power. I’ve looked for the fuse, but can’t see any bad. It’s not showing SAFE…it has no power! The battery was dead, jumped it, however have NO radio power. Can someone help? The owners guide is no help. If you have ideas, I’ll check and double check. Thanks.

When this car was purchased I was told it had a timing issue, So, I went to try to adjust the timing but there is no distributor, so how do you adjust the timing? Also, maybe it is not a timing issue how do you know if your car just might need. It is a 95 VW Passat Wagon. It has the same engine as the V6 Jetta of that year. When I hit on the gas petal I basically have to push it all the way to the floor in order to get it to go. Which I shouldn’t have to do that. Then it seems to take too long shifting gears like it is hanging on to first gear. So, then I figured that I might have to check the Transmission fluid, since that is put in a horrible spot maybe the last person that had the car never checked it right or something.

Ok I have a 1999 VW Passat, i really havent had much trouble with this car, however this friday i rolled down the driverside window and it went down crooked, i tried to catch it but couldnt, then when i tried to put it up again i couldnt. Then the next day the passenger door window did the same exact thing. I opened the door pannel and found that the plastic clamps that hold the window broke im woundering if this might be a common problem and if maybe a recalled item? I hear that they dont sell just the plastic clamps that they sell the entire window slides and motor; which at the dealership is extremely expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions, i would really appreciate it.

I cannot open the rear driver side door of my 1997 VW Passat from either the inside or outside. It was already stuck so that I couldn’t open it from the outside. Then, while trying to oil and clean it, so that it could possibly open from the outside, I accidently switched it to “child proof” and now I cannot open it at all. I have pulled, pushed and banged! Nothing! Other than taking it to a dealership to have them open it, what do you suggest?

I have a VW Polo 2003 (automatic transmission). Last week, I realized that the car, after some distance, speed, stops and displays from the EPC. When this happens, the car is moving slowly and when I step on the gas, nothing happens – just not rev at all. When I start the car after a few hours later, rev counter for a few seconds even with the EPC light on and then to refuse to rev/throttle. I’m confused.

Actually my VW Polo GTI drivers side window goes down fine, then when I press switch to move up it goes half way, then back down again. When I press it to close again and it goes up really slowly and normally gets stuck about 3/4 way up. Does anyone know what the problem could be? and could it be easy to fix?
