2002 Buick LeSabre Battery |
Are there any signs that I should look for that would tell me it’s time to look at replacing the battery on my 2002 Buick LeSabre? How often should the battery in my 2002 Buick LeSabre Custom be replaced?
Answer: An alternator that’s not charging between 13.5 – 14.0 volts with the engine running needs replacement. An working alternator does not prevent an otherwise good battery from holding a charge. As a rule, car manufactures don’t put the best high quality batteries in new cars. If your battery is an original it’ll say AC-Delco on it. There are two grades of AC-Delco batteries. The better ones say AC-Delco Professional on the top and sides. They are made in the USA instead of Mexico and have more cold cranking amps @ 0 degrees Farenheit. The best way to learn if your present battery is on its last legs is to have an inexpensive *load test done on your present battery to see what its reserve capacity is.
