Answer: There is a big filter labeled ‘transmission’ it is external and can be accessed without removing the transmission. Follow these instruction below if you want to do it by yourself.
- Raise up your car.
- Put a big pan under the transmission, remove the drain bolt and oil filter and drain the oil (this step could take a long time).
- Replace the drain bolt and filter (I suggest you to buy buy a new crush washer and new filter).
- Pump the oil into the gearbox through the gearbox dipstick. Be very sure that you do not overfill the gearbox.
In case you feel difficult to do this task alone, a shop should be able to do this for you for around $75 labor.
