Does anyone know how can I check the timing on my 1985 Chevrolet 305 with v8 engine?
Answer: Engine must be at operating temperature, turn engine off, disconnect the 4 wire EST (electronic spark timing) connector at the back of the distributor, with timing light on #1 cylinder plug wire timing should be set at 0 degrees TDC (top dead center) (If Check Engine light comes on during procedure, remove ECM fuse to clear) reconnect the EST connector!
