How can I replace the mirror in 2000 Audi A6 Avant side view/door window? Okay, I found the mirror but it’s miles away and open on Monday only (it’s a holiday, not 100% it will be open) now. The mirror alone in my Audi is 320.00 from a dealer. (It’s auto dim/heated). Is there anyway an auto glass place could measure and fit a piece of glass in there, or is my only option to travel far out on Monday. What are some options I have? It’s a 2000 Audi A6 Avant. I can’t even find replacement glass for this car!

Answer: If it is just the glass (mirror) part that has fallen out a glass company can replace it. It is not a cut piece of mirror like what goes in a house. Glass companies get the replacement mirrors from a company called Burco (and others). They are remade to fit different vehicles. You don’t need the whole mirror and housing if just the glass is broken.
