2005 Land Rover LR3 Front Left View |
I’m deciding to save my money by doing my 2005 Land Rover LR3 own
service and maintenance. Is there any advice on doing oil change? Thanks
before.
Answer: There is nothing to be difficult..
1. First check that you have the right tool to remove the drain plug
before you start the job. You also may need a tool to remove the filter
if you can’t do it by bare hand.
2. Make sure that you don’t have the oil filter o-ring seal stuck to the adapter when you remove the filter. If the seal sticks to the adapter and you put a new filter on, the new filter seal will blow out and you’ll lose all your oil suddenly and likely destroy the engine if you don’t shut it down immediately.
This is a beginner mistake but can be a very expensive one – and you want to save money, right?
3. Use a quality oil filter and oil. Consult the owner’s manual for the appropriate grades of oil for your motor.
