"1994 Honda Civic dx Coupe: Type of The ECU"

1994 Honda Civic dx Coupe Light Blue

I wanted to know if anybody knew what type of ecu would make my 1994 Honda Civic dx coupe with a 97 gsr motor run better?

Answer: An OBD1 P72 ecu would be the easiest if you can get one. The 2nd best choice is what everyone else mentioned; a chipped P28 or P06 (make sure it’s also chipped for vtec) with a P72 base map.
If you’re simply looking for an ECU to make power, using it just as another bolt-on performance part, then don’t bother. Using anything other than a stock ECU (or modified ecu to act like it’s stock), isn’t going to give you any more power unless you get it tuned specifically for your set up. The stock ecu is more than capable of handling basic bolt-on (intake, exhaust, & header). Stuff like those $20-30 eBay chips are junk and aren’t created by anyone who really knows how to tune. They are random programming that in the long run will do far more harm than good. Sorry for such a long answer, just wasn’t sure the reasoning behind wanting a new ecu.
