2000 GMC Jimmy Front Left View |
I have an 2000 GMC Jimmy, all seat belt latches in the back seat are bad. Someone told me that seat belts are covered for life. Is this true?
Answer: Please describe
“Bad”? Very seldomly have I seen seat belt issues on any car. I don’t
think there is a lifetime guarantee on them except for certain failure.
But most of those buckles are crammed with crap like pennies or other
debris that isn’t covered under any warranty. The seat belt webbing material fraying isn’t covered either under warranty.
That is usually the 2 main issues I see on the seat belts plus the plastic button breaks on the webbing causing the male end to slide all the way down, or the red plastic piece breaks on the female buckle which also isn’t covered since it is a sign of abuse & not a failure of the part itself.
