I have the problem with wipers on 2004 Chevrolet Venture. The wiper blades are not going to their far upper positions, but just to some 3/4 – 4/5 of the normal span, and then back to the park position. What could be the reason and what’s the solution?

Answer: These vans have long linkages under the hood with little ball joint type fittings. The little ball joints wear out and then there is play in the linkage and they get sloppy and may not move as far. This is serviceable but be careful when checking and keep your hands away when the wipers are going. Make sure the key is out of the car if you are working on the wiper linkage.
