Black 2006 BMW 320D Front View |
I kerned my 2006 BMW 320d on Friday – the car now drives at an angle and the brakes lock on randomly. I have taken it to a garage and they have said it may have possible chassis damage – they are going to need to put it on a JIG, I was wondering if you could tell me how much this will cost, roughly.
Answer: Not cheap. Make sure they are not just taking you for a ride. Take it to multiple shops to have it tested. I doubt it is the chassis, as your suspension components will fail before your chassis warps. I think they are lying to you. How hard did you hit the curb? If it wasn’t hard enough to break your alloy wheels, then your chassis if fine. You probably have a bent control arm that is messing with the geometry
of your brakes and steering. If it is just suspension and brake mount
brackets, or something like that, parts and labor will cost about 2500
dollars. It could be up to 3500 though, so be prepared.
