Detroit alloys. These wheels cost about $400 apiece at the dealers. The
hi-performance profile tires [205/45 18 ] will cost you $140 each [Goodyear
Eagles] $2,160. Plus, mounting and balancing of the tires about $100.
You could search the Net for a better price; or buy a used set.
Plus, you can sell your Golf wheels and tires. That would help defray the cost too. I have a 06 GTI with the above wheels and tires VW called them Huffeisen wheels, but they are basically the same as the Detroit wheels. I really love my wheels and Goodyear tires! They make a big difference in the handling and grip of the car.
