2002 Subaru WRX Blue Front Left View |
I had what sounded like a slipping belt on the AC system of my 2002
Subaru WRX, it got worse over a few years, after checking things I
thought the compressor clutch was going bad. Now the AC quit working entirely. So I took a wire and just connected the AC clutch input to the battery and it started spinning and worked fine. but I can’t leave it hot wired. The light on the dash tells me that the AC is on, but it just will not send the signal out to the compressor or the second radiator fan. Has anyone else had this issue and know where I should start looking ?
Answer: If your Freon charge is too low, then the compressor will not turn on. Its possible you have a leak and lost freon. This would be why the light comes on but does not engage the compressor. Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I have an 2003 Subaru WRX.
