"How to Change The Oil Filter on 1998 Ford Escort"

1998 Ford Escort Sport

I have a 1998 Ford Escort Sport with an auto transmission and recently I need to change the oil filter but I don’t know where it is. Can anyone help me here?

Answer: Please look underneath the engine, and look upward, on the side of the engine that faces the firewall, where the right side axle shaft is, you’ll see the oil filter, just above the shaft. If you have the 2.0L SPI engine, it’s a Ford/Motorcraft FL-400S oil filter. It’s a FL-2005, if it’s a 2.0L DOHC Zetec engine. When refilling, it is a 4.5 litres of 5W30 oil of your choice. The size to remove the drain plug is 15mm size wrench for 2.0L SPI, and 13mm for 2.0L DOHC Zetec. Hope this helps.
