"Temperature Gauge Problems on Peugeot 206 XS"

I have a problem with my Peugeot 206 XS. When I turn my temperature gauge to hot inside my car, my temperature gauge for water goes to red? And I have been told my cooling fan is fine and my thermostat is fine, the radiator and pumps are fine too. Help me please.

Answer: Normally, putting the temperature to hot would cool the engine down because you’re taking the warm air in the engine bay to heat the car. I’m assuming that you’ve checked the water level? Does the water temp gauge go to red at any other time? It sounds to me as though there is either an electrical problem, low water level, or thermostat problem. How old is the car, and has the thermostat been replaced at all?
