My 1990 Volvo760 Turbo Wagon just ran like crap today, would be idle
to die soon after a load of the engine. I have a few blank lines
suspicion, especially the fuel pressure regulator, and after replacing them it seems to be running better and is fine to drive, but not great. And now the check engine light is on. How do I read the codes? Is there a spell that opening and closing codes somewhere?
Answer: You can do this yourself. Locate the diagnostic socket box near the left strut tower. Insert pig tail into socket”2″[fuel injection] now with key on engine off press button for three seconds and release. Watch red light emitting diode.
It will blink a 3 digit code [example 1...1...1... is a system pass
code] if code[s] other than above are stored press button again and
record codes until the first code repeats. Next plug pig tail into socket”6″ this tests the ignition system the same rules apply record any and all codes these can be deciphered with the purchase of a Bentley or Haynes shop manual. Good luck.
