My 1993 BMW 525i needs a heater blower replacement. What do i need to do to change
it? Where is it? Sounds like a bearing of it it’s going out. It rattles
too. Some times it whines. The rattle noise varies in frequency in
accord with the blower motor speed.
Answer: The blower motor on your model is located behind the dashboard right in the middle. It is not easy to get too at all. If you aren’t a do it yourself type leave it to a pro to fix. The blower motor
itself can be bought from the dealer or an online vendor such as
BavAuto or Pelican Parts. Expect to spend over $200 for the motor alone.
