"Key Fob Battery Replacement Problems on Audi A3"

Silver Audi A3 Front Look

Audi a3 key fob battery replacement problem, how can I reprogram the key back to the car? my friend recently replaced the battery in the keyfob of his Audi a3 1.8. Now he cant start his car. I believe the memory was lost in the key when the battery was removed. Does anybody know how to reprogram the key to start his car?
Answer: No, you don’t have to have it reprogrammed at the dealer. And yes he could have lost the memory. Especially if he had it without a battery for some time. In the owners manual it should give you a sequence of buttons to press or commands – such as flipping the ignition key on or off so many times etc. But if it’s not in the Manual. go to auto zone and look it up in the repair manual there. And if not there, look for some Audi forums and/or a Audi club and ask the guys there.
