"What To Do: Burning Smell On 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe"

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, the battery and break light are on. I checked the break fluid and its full a new battery. But now there is a rubbery/burning smell comes out from my car. Is there any posible relation with the electrical system? Or what?

Answer: It sounds like two problems. The battery light is probably being caused by your alternator not producing proper voltage. That could be because the alternator has failed, or the drive belt is slipping (usually caused either by the belt being old, or the belt tensioner failing). The brake light could very well be an issue with the anti-lock braking system, which is a lot of cars is computer controlled. You probably need to get a mechanic to test the electrical system, and they can also use a computer tool to see what is going on with the brakes. Spend some money of getting the problem trouble shot; in the long run its cheaper than mere component replacement.
