"Cold Start-Up Engine Problems on 2010 Toyota Tundra"

2010 Red Toyota Tundra

On cold start-up, the engine on my 2010 Toyota Tundra, 5.7L V8 revs to 2,000 rpm`s for a short time, I feel the rpm`s are too high. Is that okay? Or maybe it will be a problems?

Answer: High RPM for a short time is normal with cold engine. The ECM is still in “Open Loop” mode, a similar condition when the choke is activated on a carburetor engine. If the idle is OK within a short period of time, your truck works fine.
