"Oil and Coolant Leaking on 2000 Volkswagen Jetta"

Blue 2000 Volkswagen Jetta

I just bought a 2000 VW Jetta about one week ago. After I purchase the car, I drove several days. This car is very nice but has a little problem when it on idle. The car shaking a little bit when it on idle speed. I though it might because of the air filter.
On last Friday night, I try to change oil by myself. After I went underneath the car, I found the coolant and oil are leaking behind the engine. I could see the oil and coolant are leaking from the cylinder head and exhaust manifold. Is it a sign that I need to replace the head gasket? If it is, can anyone give me an estimate about the cost? Thank you very much!

Answer: If you can see the coolant or oil leaking from the head then yes the gasket is leaking for sure externally it could be internally too.
