"How To Tighten An Emergency Break on Ford F150"

New Ford F150

How do you tighten a emergency break on a Ford F150?

Answer: If the emergency brake is out,it probably means the rear brakes need adjusting. Jack the truck up and look behind the brake, there should be a slot for brake adjustment. It’s sometimes better to remove the wheel and tire and remove the brake drum to see the adjuster and to see which way to turn it. Adjust till you get a little drag on the drum itself, then reassemble. You might have to shoot some penetration oil on the adjuster. This will also bring you emergency brake pedal up too once the brakes are adjusted.
