What does an ECU do in a Toyota Estima Lucida? I had a diesel pump
and timming belt change and i have been told the ECU unit needs to be
scanned to delete its memory as it is not running right its starting in
3rd gear and the overdrive is not clicking on is this true.
Answer: ECU is a car main computer that controls the
engine and transmission and all you need to reset it is to disconnect
the battery for a minute or two. However, I don’t thinksimply resetting the computer will fix any of these problems, but you can try.
