| 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Fuel Filter |
I was changing the fuel filter on my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX and I forgot to relieve the pressure before removing the old filter.
Of course I got a little gasoline on myself, then swapped in the new
one. Since I forgot to relieve the pressure first, could I have damaged
anything?
Answer: No, it just wasted a little gas. Just make sure you run a hose over the area where the gas spilled to wash it off good. Over time it will eat through some plastics and rubbers and also the paint. The first time I did mine, there must have been a lot of pressure because gas shot out all over the hood and windshield. It was a mess but no harm so don’t worry.
