2005 Subaru Impreza Outback Fuel Filter |
I want to change my 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback fuel filter, but I am not sure where it is located and if any special techniques need to be used. I am also going to change out my cabin filter. Where is it located?
Answer: Cabin filter is located behind the glove box. You may find your car never had one in it but it’s pretty simple to replace. Also you can buy the filter from the dealer for about $20 or you can just buy a filter for home A/C’s or heaters and cut about 6 of them for about 25 cents. Works just as good for me. I also lay a half a dryer sheet on the filter to keep the car smelling great for months. Fuel filter is where the guy above says it is. Disconnect the negative battery cable before trying to change the fuel filter and it should keep gas from shooting out. I guess they Changed the N/A engines around that time too then. On my 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX the fuel filter is in the gas tank connected to the fuel pump. It’s quit a job requiring you to empty your tank and pulling the fuel pump assembly out so unless you are sure about your abilities, I would have it done. Changing out my fuel pump took all day with a couple friends helping.
