2001 Toyota Prius Front Left View |
I have some kind of problems with my Prius battery, and I think it needs to be change. Does anyone knows how much does 2001 Toyota Prius BATTERY cost to replace?
Answer: The Prius has two batteries.
A small 12V battery that costs $105.41 and a large traction battery.
The traction battery costs $1,747.24 plus installation (about $600) for a
new battery. There are companies that refurbish the battery for about
$1000, or you can get a battery from a wreck for about $500. Note that
it’s possible to refurbish the 2001′s battery with cells from a
2004-2009 Prius, so parts to refurbish aren’t a problem.
Toyota pays a $200 bounty on the old battery–assuming you go the new
battery or battery from a wreck route and don’t need the old battery as a
core.
