2000 Mazda 626 Interior View |
I bought a new Sony stereo and ipod adapter for my 2000 Mazda 626. I
have never installed a car stereo before but think I might try instead
paying to have it installed. Will this be difficult? Should I even attempt it since I have no experience with car stereos?
Answer: Sure, I’m going to tell you to go ahead and do
it. Look at the radio on your 2000 Mazda 626 and on the left side of the
radio you’ll find a little piece that pops off as well as the right
side. Use ford removal keys and the original stereo will slide right
out. Now take the metal cage that came with the cd player and insert
that in the space where you just took out the cd player (it should fit, I
don’t think the Mazda 626 has a double din cutout anyways). After that,
go to Best Buy and buy a 2000 Mazda 626 Harness. Grab the wiring
harness that came with you cd player and wire it color for color with
the vehicle harness you just purchased from Best Buy. (ie: red to red,
yellow to yellow, black to black, white to white, white/black to
white/black, you get the idea.) The ipod interface on Sonys do not
require you to tap into anything to get power, should be all plug and
play, so that shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
