I have an 2004 KIA Rio and the rear wiper stopped working a few days ago. The fuse was OK, but the wiper wasn’t working although it was still drawing current as the engine revs dropped.
I assumed the motor was jammed, and disconnected it. The fuse blew! now
whenever I switch the ignition on the fuse blows even though I’ve not
switched the wiper on. I can only find the relay for the front wipers so
I’m assuming the rear doesn’t have one. I’ve checked for breaks in the wire, she’s never been in an accident or been tinkered with. Many thanks for any suggestions.
Answer: You disconnected the wiper motor and then it started blowing fuses? Look at wiring you disconnected see if any wire open and touching ground.
