Recently I have just bought a brand new sony GPS for my 1997 Peugeot 106, but the car adapter will not work. The original lighter plug works slightly, I think that it works but with only a small amounts of power. So I have bought a new socket, but I can’t see anyway of installing it, and I am desperate to use my GPS, please help!
Answer: Usually the lighter is near the ashtray, so remove the ashtray
and you should be able to see the lighter socket. It is usually held in
with a clip and are very temperamental to remove and replacement ones
are always easier to use. But sorry to say some times the only way it
will come out is brute force remove power plugs and force out if you
cannot see power plugs which is sometimes the case remove battery
connections.
