Black 1999 Mazda Protege Front View |
I drive an 1999 Mazda Protege and wish to add an ecu chip to my car. Will it better performance and efficiency? If yes then by how much?
Answer: Your ecu monitors many different vital parts of your engine. One of its many functions is to monitor
the workload on the engine and decides which is the best fuel map to
use. ecu upgrades can either be piggy back or stand alone systems. Piggy
back systems are more popular because of their ease of use and
ultimately their pricing. These systems do exactly what the factory ecu
does, but they intercept the signal and modify the signal so the engine
may think that the load is greater or lower forcing it to read a
different part of the fuel map. This results with a change in your fuel
curve and can greatly improve your cars performance while improving
efficiency. It like killing two birds with one stone. Check out my
sources below or your local tuner shops.
