I have an 1999 c-230 Mercedes Benz and lately my wiper stopped working in the middle of the windshield. When I turn it on, it makes a buzzing noise as if it is working, but the arm moves very slow, or stops completely.
Answer: Common problem
on the W202 chassis. The wiper gear transmission is seizing up on the
vehicle. You may be able to open it up and lubricate it but that usually
only works when you first notice the wiper slowing down. If it can no
longer complete a sweep, it is likely toast at this point and the only
fix is to replace it. I’ll warn you now, the single arm wiper assembly is not cheap.
