Black 2002 Mercedes Benz E430 Front Left View |
I was replacing the wipers on my 2002 Mercedes-Benz
E430 (Sedan) and when I was done, I couldn’t put the wiper back down
again. How can I do this? The manual says nothing about this.
Answer: I’ve owned 5 of these W210 chassis cars and every time I change the blades it does this. Mercedes made a self locking position
in the arm so the blade can easily be replaced. It is best to pull the
blade/wiper arm towards you after replacement. You’ll hear the spring
click and should be out of the locking position. I’m assuming your standing on the drivers side (left) while doing this. Many people
force this down and that is NOT the way to do it. If you change your
blades enough this way, then expect to replace the whole wiper arm!
($230) Again, before pushing down on the wiper arm, pull it towards you
with a bit of force and then push it down after the click. Works for me every time, just replaced mine last month. Hope this info helps.
