2001 Nissan Almera Tino Rear View |
I have Nissan Almera Tino 2.2 Diesel. A year ago it started losing power on lower gears and shuddered on changing gears. Problem was traced to EGR valve which was
replaced but problem still remained so I’ve been driving the car with
the EGR valve disconnected now with no visible issues. However a recent
service showed that the air filter
was completely clogged and further checks showed that the engine ECU
appeared to be fried. No readings appear to be coming out of it but
other ECU’s are okay. Quotes for replacement come around £1200 as
mechanic said it need to be programmed as well. Can I simply get a second hand engine ECU and replace?
Answer: You need to have this professional checked
out and an accurate diagnostic check needs to be done. It is not very
common for an ecu to be replaced.
