My 2000 Ford Windstar ABS brake code 1185, how do I determine what problem, ECU or HCU? How can I be sure? Amber dash light seems to come on after car warms up then stays on for the rest of the day.

Ok the code you have If I remember is :
C1185 Power Relay Output Circuit Failure

Basically the relay for the ABS module is erroring. Only problem is relay is internal to the ECU (electronic control unit) for make sure you have power and ground going to the ABS module from the vehicle. And if yes, you are looking at a ECU on the ABS, it cost $400 or so for th parts.
