Okay, this is the situation, I want to replace the brake cylinders on my 2001 KIA Spectra but I can’t figured out how to remove the drum brakes cover. Any ideas?
Answer: Start by
purchasing a brake adjustment tool, then remove the little oval shaped
rubber plug located at the lower back of the drum backing plate, then
shine a flashlight in the hole a you will see a star shaped adjuster,
begin turning it with the brake adjustment tool one direction
or the other till it loosens up the brake shoes by making the adjuster
smaller, Then you should be able to wiggle the drum and remove it.
