Does a transmission oil cooler significantly affect engine cooling when installed in front of radiator? Installing on a 2009 Subaru Forester.
Answer: If your Subaru didn’t come with a
transmission cooler, you do not need one. Unless you put some other type
of transmission in it or constantly tow heavy objects. If the car came
with one, it obviously will not significantly affect engine cooler. Most
car manufacturers place the transmission oil cooler in front of the radiator.
